FAQs

Have questions about pelvic floor therapy at Pelvic Wellness? Here are the ones women ask most before getting started.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No. A physician referral is not required for occupational therapy in Michigan. You can schedule your free consultation directly, no paperwork from your doctor needed before your first visit.

What does a session at Pelvic Wellness actually look like?

Your first appointment is a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation with Sierra. She will review your history, assess your posture, movement, and breathing patterns, and develop a personalized plan tailored to your specific situation. Follow-up sessions are one-on-one, in a private room, always with the same provider.

What types of concerns does pelvic floor therapy help with?

Sierra works with women managing urinary leaking, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, postpartum recovery, diastasis recti, C-scar tightness, chronic constipation, and pelvic organ prolapse, among others. Each concern is addressed through a personalized, whole-body approach built around your specific needs.

Is this covered by insurance?

Pelvic Wellness is a cash-based practice. We accept HSA and FSA payments, and we can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement though reimbursement is not guaranteed and is handled by you directly with your insurer.

What can I expect at my first visit?

Your first appointment is a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation with Sierra. She'll take time to understand your full history, your goals, and what's been getting in the way. From there, she'll develop a personalized plan tailored to your life, not a generic handout. Every session is one-on-one, in a private setting, with the same provider each time.
